Biography:

Brett Dier was born on February 14, 1990 in London, Canada. Though he was mostly interested in music when he was younger, particularly playing piano and guitar, he got into acting, beginning in the 2006 TV film Family in Hiding, followed by two more TV movies. In 2007, he made his film debut as an extra in Battle in Seattle. In the late 2000s, he was also appearing in one-episode roles in such TV shows as Smallville, Fear Itself, and Supernatural.

Following a role in the 2010 TV film Meteor Storm, he appeared as Marcus in the Canadian movie Dear Mr. Gacy followed by the American movie Diary of a Wimpy Kid. His first recurring role was in the Canadian series Mr. Young. From 2013 to 2014, he became known for his role as Luke Matheson in Ravenswood, though the show didn’t last long. He next starred as Michael Cordero Jr. in Jane the Virgin, which helped him obtain mainstream recognition.
