Carey Mulligan was born on May 28, 1985 in Westminster, London, UK. Her passion and love for acting began in her old school, Woldingham School, where she participated in a production of “Sweet Charity” in her final year.

She got her first major appearance as Kitty Bennet in Pride and Prejudice alongside Keira Knightley, Judi Dench and Donald Sutherland.

She gained widespread recognition for her performance as Jenny in An Education in 2009, for which she was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actress, and for which she won a BAFTA Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role.
