Biography:

Alesha Dixon was born on October 7, 1978 in Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire, England. She first came to prominence as a member of the all-female trio Mis-Teeq. The group separated in 2005, prompting her to begin a solo music career.

In 2006, she started recording her debut album Fired Up, but her first two singles, Lipstick and Knockdown, failed to be commercially successful, resulting to her being dropped from her label.

The following year, she participated in Strictly Come Dancing, which she went on to win, leading her to have a successful comeback. In 2008, she released her second album, The Alesha Show, which became highly successful.
