Biography:
Alexander Skarsgård was born on August 25, 1976 in Stockholm, Sweden. He applied to do his national service at the age of 19 and served in the Swedish military for 18 months.
He completed his service in 1996 and left for England, where he attended Leeds Metropolitan University.
Upon returning to Sweden, he appeared in several film, television and theatre productions. He then moved to Los Angeles in 2004, where he got his breakthrough as Sergeant Brad Colbert in the HBO miniseries Generation Kill.
From 2008 to 2014, he played vampire Eric Northman in the HBO series True Blood.
