Biography:
Allen Leech was born on 18 May 1981 in Killiney, County Dublin, Ireland. He became interested in acting at a young age. He first performed on stage. In 2000, he made his screen debut in the TV movie Yesterday’s Children. He next had his first movie role in 2002’s The Escapist. His subsequent roles were in the films Cowboys & Angels and Man About Dog.
His first notable role on TV was as Marcus Agrippa on the television series Rome. In 2010, he played Francis Dereham in two episodes of The Tudors. At the same time, he began playing the part of Tom Branson on the period drama Downton Abbey. Starring on the show from 2010 to 2015, his work here gained him mainstream fame. Back on the big screen, he portrayed John Cairncross in The Imitation Game and Paul Prenter in Bohemian Rhapsody.
