Biography:
Amanda Brugel was born on March 24, 1978 in Pointe-Claire, Quebec, Canada. She attended York University where she got into its theater program via a scholarship. She completed her BFA degree in 2000. A year before graduating, she made her TV debut on the television film Vendetta. She next appeared on another TV movie A Diva’s Christmas Carol. Later in 2002, she made her cinematic debut in the movie Jason X.
She later had appearances in the films The Prince and Me and KAW. During this period, she continued performing on several TV movies, which include This Time Around and Category 6: Day of Destruction. In 2008, she starred as Lynnie Jordan on the TV series Paradise Falls. Meanwhile, in the 2010s, she gained wider recognition for starring as Michelle Krasnoff on Seed and Marci Coates on Orphan Black. Since 2017, she plays the role of Rita on The Handmaid’s Tale.
