Biography:

Amanda Tapping was born on 28 August 1965 in Rochford, Essex, England. She attended University of Windsor School of Dramatic Arts where she studied drama. After this, she studied Theatrical Arts and started performing on theater. In 1995, she made her film debut The Donor. That same year, she had her first movie appearance in Forever Knight. She continued guest starring on shows for the next couple of years.

She first became known for her recurring role as Miss Yansouni on Flash Forward. She then gained further recognition for starring as Samantha Carter on Stargate SG-1. She reprised her role on Stargate Atlantis. After her stint on the show ended, she starred as Dr. Helen Magnus on the show Sanctuary. She was also the narrator of the series Riese: Kingdom Falling. In the 2010s, her most notable role was as Naomi on Supernatural.
