Indian actress and model Ameesha Patel had her career beginnings in the early 2000s. She debuted in the romantic thriller film Kaho Naa… Pyaar Hai. Around the same time, she made her Telugu debut in Badri. Her performance in the 2001 film Gadar: Ek Prem Katha brought her greater fame. For this, she won the Filmfare Award for Special Performance.
She was also nominated for the Best Actress category. She next had starring roles in the films Yeh Zindagi Ka Safar, Kranti, Kya Yehi Pyaar Hai, and Aap Mujhe Achche Lagne Lage. In 2002, she starred in the Bollywood movie Humraaz and earned a Filmfare nomination for Best Actress. Patel then made her Tamil debut in the 2003 film Pudhiya Geethai.
The rest of the 2000s saw her perform in the Hindi films Parwana, Suno Sasurjee, Vaada, Elaan, Zameer: The Fire Within, Mangal Pandey: The Rising, and Humko Tumse Pyaar Hai, among others. The actress also did an item number for the movies Heyy Babyy and Om Shanti Om. She continued her film career in the 2010s, first starring in the Telugu film Parama Veera Chakra. She went on to have roles in the films Chatur Singh Two Star, Race 2, Shortcut Romeo, and Bhaiaji Superhit. She’ll also star in the upcoming movie Desi Magic.
