Ammu Abhirami was born on March 16, 2000 in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. Her acting career started in 2017 playing a brief role in the 2017 Tamil film Bairavaa. She also played small roles in the movies En Aaloda Seruppa Kaanom and Theeran Adhigaaram Ondru. The following year, she gained notice for her supporting roles in the movies Thaana Serndha Kootam, Ratsasan, and Thuppakki Munai.

She next starred in the Telugu movie Rakshasudu (remake of Ratsasan), released in 2018. This also marked her Telugu debut. The next year, she had performances in the feature films Asuran and Thambi. This year, the actress had notable roles in the Tamil films Adavi and Navarasa.
