Biography:

Amrita Rao was born on June 7, 1981 in Mumbai, India. She attended Sophia College where she pursued a degree in Psychology. While attending college, she worked as a model where she appeared in several commercials.

In 2002, she made her acting debut in the film Ab Ke Baras. Her breakthrough was in the movie Ishq Vishk, which became a box-office hit instantly making her a star. For her performance, she received a Filmfare nomination for Best Female Debut Award.

In 2004, she starred in Main Hoon Na, for which she received her second Filmfare nomination for Best Supporting Actress.
