Biography:
Amy Seimetz was born on November 25, 1981. She studied at a film school for a short period. She then decided to move to Hollywood. She started her movie career by directing and producing short films, such as Medicine for Melancholy released in 2008. Before this she had already made her film debut in Black Dragon Canyon. She next appeared in the film Wristcutters: A Love Story.
In 2009, she starred in the film Alexander the Last. She next had roles in the films You’re Next, Be Good, Revenge for Jolly!, and Possession. In 2012, she wrote, produced, directed and edited the movie Sun Don’t Shine. The following year, she starred in Upstream Color. At the same time, she starred as Danette Leeds on the TV series The Killing. She also appeared in five episodes of The Girlfriend Experience where she also served as executive producer, writer, and director.
