Amy Yasbeck was born on September 12, 1962 in Blue Ash, Ohio, United States. In 1985, she appeared in the unsold pilot called Rockhopper. Shortly after, she landed the role of Olivia Reed in the soap opera Days of Our Lives, which she played from 1986 to 1987. Following this, she made her film debut in House II: The Second Story. During the 1990s, she got roles for a couple of Hollywood films.

This includes the movies Pretty Woman, Problem Child, The Nutt House, Robin Hood: Men in Tights, The Mask, and Home for the Holidays, among others. During this period, she also starred as Casey Chappel Davenport in the TV series Wings. She got less active during the 2000s, only appearing in a few shows. In the 2010s, she only had guest appearances in Hot in Cleveland, Bones, Modern Family, Workaholics, and Pretty Little Liars.
