Andy Serkis is an English actor and director, though he is best recognized for his work in performance capture roles, first as Gollum in Lord of the Rings film trilogy, as well as in The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey. He also portrayed King Kong in the movie of the same name in 2005 and played Caesar in Rise of the Planet of the Apes and Dawn of the Planet of the Apes. He recently portrayed Supreme Leader Snoke in Star Wars: The Force Awakens. For all his works, he is called the “godfather of motion capture”. Interestingly, he owns his own motion capture workshop in London called The Imaginarium Studios.
