Hollywood star Annie Ilonzeh pursued acting in the 2000s. She ultimately landed her first role as Becky in one episode of How I Met Your Mother. After this, she got a 3-episode role in the short-lived remake of Melrose Place. She later appeared with minor roles in the films He’s Just Not That into You and Miss March. Her first regular role on the small screen was as Maya Ward in the medical soap opera General Hospital, which she starred in from 2010 to 2011.

She simultaneously appeared in 3 episodes of Entourage, as well as played small roles in the movies Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief and Frenemies. She next starred as Kate Prince in the short-lived TV remake of Charlie’s Angels. Subsequently, she played Joanna De La Vega in Arrow and Lana in Switched at Birth. Afterward, she played Nicole in several episodes of Drop Dead Diva.

Around this period, the actress starred in the independent film Killer Reality. Ilonzeh continued her work on television, playing recurring roles as Harper Rose in Person of Interest, Courtney Gallo in Graceland, and Harper Scott in Empire. In 2018, she began playing the role of Emily Foster in Chicago Fire, gaining her wider recognition on TV. She also kept on pursuing a film career. She portrayed actress Kidada Jones in the 2017 film All Eyez on Me. Other films are in ‘Til Death Do Us Part and Peppermint.
