Biography:
Anthony Mackie was born on September 23, 1978 in New Orleans, Louisiana, U.S. He studied drama at Juilliard School’s Drama Division. In 2002, he made his film debut in 8 Mile. He later starred in the films Hollywood Homicide and Brother to Brother. For his role in the latter, he received an Independent Spirit nomination for Best Debut Performance. He went on play supporting roles in such movies as The Manchurian Candidate, She Hate Me, Million Dollar Baby, Freedomland, and Half Nelson, among others.
He then had notable performances in the movies Eagle Eye, The Hurt Locker, American Violet, Night Catches Us, and The Adjustment Bureau. In 2009, he portrayed rapper Tupac Shakur in the biographical film Notorious. Mackie is now best known for his role as Sam Wilson / Falcon in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. He reprised his role in the upcoming limited series The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.
