Biography:
Ariana DeBose was born on January 25, 1991 in North Carolina, USA. She first appeared on television as a contestant in the dance reality show So You Think You Can Dance. After this, she ventured into stage. Her first Broadway role was as Nautica/Danielle in the musical Bring It On: The Musical. She continued performing on stage with Motown: The Musical (2013) and Pippin (2014). She was then lauded for her performance as the title character in Summer: The Donna Summer Musical, a role that got her a Tony Award nomination.
On TV, she made her debut in an episode of Blue Bloods in 2016, while she had her first movie role in 2018’s Seaside. She next starred in the taped version of Hamilton, which launched on Disney+ in 2020. That same year, she starred in the musical comedy-drama The Prom. More recently, it was announced that she landed the role of Anita in the remake of West Side Story.
