Biography:

Ashanti was born on October 13, 1980 in Glen Cove, New York, U.S. She first established her career as a successful recording artist when she released her eponymous debut album, which featured the hit single “Foolish”.

She broke records by having three top ten songs such as “Foolish,” “What’s Luv?” and “Always on Time”. In 2003, the self-titled debut album won her her first Grammy Award for Best Contemporary R&B album.

Aside from singing and songwriting, she also ventured into acting with her roles in such films as Bride and Prejudice, Coach Carter, John Tucker Must Die and Resident Evil Extinction.
