Barbara Alyn Woods was born on 11 March 1962 in Chicago, Illinois, United States. In 1988, she made her television debut in an episode of Sable. Two years later, she had her first movie role in Circuitry Man. She also landed one-time roles on television, guest-starring in such shows as Picket Fences and Seinfeld.
During this period, she had roles in some films, including Delusion and Delusion, to name a few. Her first notable role on television was as Diane Szalinski in the sci-fi sitcom Honey, I Shrunk the Kids. In the 2000s, she became further known for her portrayal of Deborah “Deb” Scott in One Tree Hill. She recently starred in the 2019 film Walk Ride Rodeo.
