Biography:
Ben Whishaw was born on 14 October 1980 in Clifton, Bedfordshire, England, UK. He first became active on theater. In 2003, he completed his degree from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. In 1999, he made his screen debut in the film The Trench. His role in the movie My Brother Tom earned him a British Independent Film Award for Most Promising Newcomer. His breakthrough was as the lead in the film Perfume: The Story of a Murderer.
In the next years to come, he starred in the films I’m Not There, Brideshead Revisited, and The International. He went on to star as John Keats in the period romantic drama Bright Star. In the 2010s, he starred in the movies The Tempest, Skyfall, Cloud Atlas, The Lobster, The Danish Girl, and In the Heart of the Sea. His most role was in 2016’s A Hologram for the King. On TV, he’s had notable roles on The Hour and London Spy.
