Biography:
Billy Boyd was born on 28 August 1968 in Glasgow, Scotland. He graduated from the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama. In 1996, he made his acting debut appearing in an episode of Taggart. He later made his feature film debut in Urban Ghost Story. In the 2000s, he became known for his role as Peregrin “Pippin” Took in The Lord of the Rings film trilogy.
Afterward, he portrayed Barret Bonden in the movie Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World. He went on to star in the films On a Clear Day, Save Angel Hope, Stone of Destiny, and Jusqu’à toi. He also starred as Tony in the sitcom Empty. Later in 2012, he played Nick Chopper in the film Dorothy and the Witches of Oz. More recently, he played Gerald Forbes in the TV series Outlander.
