Biography:
Billy Crudup was born on July 8, 1968 in Manhasset, New York, United States. He finished his undergraduate degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and went on to continue his studies at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts, where he got his MFA. In 1996, he made his debut in the film Sleepers and gained recognition for his roles in Inventing the Abbotts and The Hi-Lo Country.
In 2000, he became even more recognized for his role in Almost Famous. Subsequently, he starred in such films as Big Fish, Stage Beauty, Mission: Impossible III, and The Good Shepherd. He also portrayed Jon Osterman / Dr. Manhattan in Watchmen and J. Edgar Hoover in Public Enemies. In the 2010s, he starred in Eat Pray Love, Blood Ties, and The Longest Week. His most recent work on the big screen is 2015’s The Stanford Prison Experiment.
