Biography:

Birgitte Hjort Sørensen was born on January 16, 1982 in Hillerød, Denmark. She began her acting career on Danish television, acting in The Eagle. Subsequently, she portrayed Roxie Hart in the musical Chicago in Copenhagen. She gained mainstream recognition in her country for her starring role on the television series Borgen where she played the role of Katrine Fønsmark from 2010 to 2013.

Her first appearance in a Hollywood movie was in the feature film Pitch Perfect 2, released in 2015. Also in the early to mid 2010s, she acted in a couple of British shows, including Midsomer Murders, Bluestone 42, and Agatha Christie’s Marple. In 2015, she played a notable character in an episode (Hardhome) of the acclaimed series Game of Thrones.
