Bradley Whitford is an American actor. His acting career began in the 1980s. During his initial years he appeared in the films Adventures in Babysitting and Revenge of the Nerds II: Nerds in Paradise. In the 1990s he became more active on TV with notable roles on Black Tie Affair and NYPD Blue. He then joined the main cast of the short-lived series The Secret Lives of Men. His breakthrough was as Josh Lyman on The West Wing, for which he won a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series. After The West Wing, he starred on the TV series Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip. In the 2010s, he starred on the comedy-drama series Trophy Wife and Transparent. The latter got him a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy Series.
