Biography:

Brenda Strong was born on 25 March 1960 in Portland, Oregon. She finished her musical theater degree from Arizona State University. She also competed in the Miss Arizona pageant in 1980, winning the title. In 1985, she made her television debut in St. Elsewhere. The following year, she made her first TV appearance in Weekend Warriors. Her career became more notable during the 1990s. During this period, she appeared as Jones in four episodes of Twin Peaks.

She next starred in the short-lived series Scorch and played Kathleen Isley in Party of Five. Her next roles on the small screen were as Sue Ellen Mischke in Seinfeld and Sally Sasser in Sports Night. She also became known for her supporting roles in the films Starship Troopers and The Deep End of the Ocean. In the 2000s, she had notable roles in the shows 7th Heaven and Everwood. She rose to further fame thanks to her role as Mary Alice Young in Desperate Housewives. She was recently seen in the shows Fear The Walking Dead and Supergirl.
