Biography:
Carmen Ejogo was born on 22 October 1973 in Kensington, London, England. She initially made her acting debut in the 1986 film Absolute Beginners. However, it was only during the ’90s that she pursued acting full-time. In 1996, she had her first TV role in 4 episodes of the British series Cold Lazarus. In the 2000s, she portrayed Sally Hemings on the TV film Sally Hemings: An American Scandal and Coretta Scott King on Boycott. From 2006-2007, she starred as Turner on the American series Kidnapped.
She next had performances in the feature films The Brave One, Pride and Glory, and Away We Go. In 2011, she starred as Fay Carson on the CBS show CHAOS. Her next role was as Rebecca “Beck” Riley on the TV series Zero Hour. She went on to play Bria Jones on The Girlfriend Experience and Amelia Reardon on True Detective. On the big screen, she portrayed Seraphina Picquery in Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them and its sequel.
