Biography:
Carrie Coon was born on January 24, 1981 in Copley, Ohio, U.S.. After finishing her MFA, she began a theatre career, making her stage debut in the production of Our Town in 2006. After several other stage performances in the mid to late 2000s, she was cast as Honey in the revival of Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?, for which she received a Tony Award nomination. In 2011, she made her TV debut in an episode of The Playboy Club.
Subsequently, she continued appearing as a guest star in such television shows as Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, Ironside, and Intelligence. In 2014, she began playing the role of Nora Durst in HBO’s The Leftovers. For her performance on the show, she was nominated for a Critics’ Choice Television Award for Best Supporting Actress in a Drama Series. She also also starred as Margo “Go” Dunne in the thriller movie Gone Girl.
