Cedric the Entertainer is an American actor and stand-up comedian. During the early 1990s, he hosted the show ComicView. He then gained mainstream recognition for starring as Cedric Jackie Robinson in The Steve Harvey Show, a role he played from 1996–2002. After this, he starred in his own show called Cedric the Entertainer Presents. During this period, he also had performances in the films Big Momma’s House, Intolerable Cruelty, and Be Cool, among others. He also played Eddie Walker in the comedy film Barbershop and its sequel Barbershop 2: Back in Business. He went on to star in the movies Man of the House, Street Kings, and Cadillac Records. In the 2010s, he starred as Reverend Boyce Ballentine in the sitcom The Soul Man. From 2013 to 2014, he hosted Who Wants to Be a Millionaire. As of 2018, he stars as Calvin Butler in the sitcom The Neighborhood.
