Biography:
Charlotte Gainsbourg was born on July 21, 1971 in London, England, UK. Her mother is English actress Jane Birkin and her father is French singer and songwriter Serge Gainsbourg.
She is a well-known recording artist, having released three albums – 5:55, IRM and Stage Whisper, which all became commercially and critically successful.
She is also a critically acclaimed actress, starring as Charlotte Castang in the 1985 film L’Effrontée, where she won the César Award for Most Promising Actress.
In 2009, she starred in Antichrist and won the Cannes Film Festival Best Actress Award, and starred in Melancholia, for which she won the Robert Festival for Best Supporting Actress.
