Biography:

Charlotte Riley was born on December 29, 1981 in Grindon, UK. She studied at the St Cuthbert’s, Durham University. There, she got involved in a couple of plays. She later completed her studies with a degree in English and Linguistics. She continued her acting training at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art to enhance her acting chops. She made her television debut in 2007 with the BBC sitcom Grownups.

She went on to gain recognition a few years later after portraying the role of Catherine Earnshaw in the made-for-television film Wuthering Heights. She has also made her big screen debut in the 2008 British film Easy Virtue. She next appeared as Maggie Summers in the British drama The Take. She has since acted on the TV shows DCI Banks, The Town, and in the miniseries World Without End. In 2014, she appeared in the movies Edge of Tomorrow, Heart of the Sea, and will star in the upcoming series London Has Fallen.
