Chloë Sevigny was born on November 18, 1974 in Springfield, Massachusetts, USA. She made her film debut in the 1995 controversial film Kids, for which she received an Independent Award nomination.

She gained reputation as an indie film queen because of her roles in independent and avant-garde films.

In 1999, she made her breakthrough for her first mainstream role in Boys Don’t Cry. Her performance garnered Academy Award and Golden Globe nominations for Best Supporting Actress.

She was also cast as the leading role in HBO’s Big Love in 2006, for which she won the Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actress in 2010.
