Chris Hemsworth was born on August 11, 1983 in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. His career began in 2004 when he auditioned for the Australian soap opera Home and Away and got the part of Kim Hyde.

In 2009, he appeared as George Kirk in the opening scenes of Star Trek and starred in the thriller A Perfect Getaway the same year.

He became best known for his role as Thor in the 2011 Marvel Studios film Thor. He reprised his role in the 2012 film The Avengers.

Also in 2012, he starred as the Huntsman in the film Snow White & The Huntsman, opposite Kristen Stewart.
