Hollywood actress Christina Hendricks had her career beginnings in the late 1990s. She made her debut with four episodes of the show Undressed. Her first main role on the small screen was as Kelly Kramer in Beggars and Choosers. She next played recurring roles in The Court and ER. She next starred in the short-lived show Kevin Hill as Nicolette Raye. Her breakthrough role was as Joan Harris in the acclaimed series Mad Men.
The prominence she gained from starring in the show led her to start a career in the movies. While working in Mad Men, she also had roles in the films Leonie, Life as We Know It, The Family Tree, Drive, I Don’t Know How She Does It, Struck By Lightning, and Lost River, among others. After Mad Men ended in 2015, she joined the main cast of the series Another Period as Chair. She also made notable roles in the shows Hap and Leonard and Tin Star. She has also starred in the movies Zoolander 2, The Neon Demon, and Bad Santa 2.
The 42-year-old actress maintains her healthy body by trying to stick to healthy foods. In an interview, she admits that she knows her body’s metabolism is slower because of her age. For this reason, she needs to be cautious of the foods she eats. She said: “As I’ve gotten older, I realize that my metabolism has changed. I finally had to get on board with fewer carbs and starches and sugars. I fought it kicking and screaming!”
Still, she replaces this with foods that are healthy but delicious as well. Talking about her healthy food replacement, she said: “Greek yogurt. I love dairy, so if I can’t have sour cream or creme fraiche, it’s a great substitute. I really love the tart tanginess of it. So if I’m dying for French onion dip, I just put in Greek yogurt instead of sour cream.”
