Biography:
Christine Baranski was born on May 2, 1952 in Buffalo, New York. She attended New York City’s Juilliard School where she completed her BA degree. She then started performing in Off-Broadway shows. In 1977, she made her television debut in an episode of Busting Loose. Later in 1982, she made her film debut in Soup for One. Her major breakthrough came during the 1990s as Maryanne Thorpe in the sitcom Cybill.
For her performance, she won an Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series award at the Emmys. She even achieved greater success for starring as Diane Lockhart in the legal drama series The Good Wife. She recently reprised her role in the spin-off series The Good Fight. In addition, she’s played recurring role Dr. Beverly Hofstadter in the sitcom The Big Bang Theory. In the movies, she notably starred in 9½ Weeks, Reversal of Fortune, Addams Family Values, Cruel Intentions, Chicago, Mamma Mia! and the sequel Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again.
