Christine Lahti is an American actress. In 1984, she was acclaimed for her supporting role in the film Swing Shift, which gained her an Academy Award nomination. She later starred in 1988’s Running on Empty, which earned her a Golden Globe nomination. In the 1990s, she had performances in the films Funny About Love, Leaving Normal, Hideaway, and Pie in the Sky. On TV, she became widely known for her role as Dr. Kathryn Austin in the medical drama Chicago Hope, which won her a Primetime Emmy and a Golden Globe for Best Actress. In the 2000s, she starred as Grace McCallister in the TV drama, as well as played Sonya Paxton in Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. Since 2019, the actress stars in the CBS series Evil.
