Biography:
Christy Turlington was born on January 2, 1969 in Oakland, California, USA. She started her modeling career during her teens. At age 18, she moved to New York City to pursue full-time modeling. She went on to appear in the documentary Unzipped and the mockumentary film Prêt-à-Porter. She also became a staple on several international magazines, such as in Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, Elle, Marie Claire, and Allure, among others.
She has worked with fashion’s biggest names – Calvin Klein, Chanel, Yves Saint Laurent, Marc Jacobs and many others – establishing herself as a supermodel. In the recent years, Turlington ventured into directing. She made her directorial debut with the 2010 documentary film No Woman, No Cry. Her next documentary, Every Mile, Every Mother, came out in 2013.
