Ciarán Hinds is an Irish actor whose career spans decades. He made his debut in the 1981 Hollywood film Excalibur. His next movie was in 1989’s The Cook, the Thief, His Wife & Her Lover. In the 1990s, he had roles in the movies Mary Reilly and Oscar and Lucinda. He also portrayed Edward Fairfax Rochester in the 1997 TV movie Jane Eyre. In the 2000s, he portrayed Louis Wagner in The Weight of Water, as well as had notable roles in The Sum of All Fears, Road to Perdition, and Lara Croft: Tomb Raider – The Cradle of Life. He continued his film career with The Phantom of the Opera, Munich, Miami Vice, and There Will Be Blood. He also portrayed King Herod in The Nativity Story. More recently, he played Mance Rayder in Game of Thrones, Michael Maguire in Shetland, and John Franklin in The Terror.
