Lonnie Corant Jaman Shuka Rashid Lynn, popularly known by his stage name Common, is an American rapper and actor. As a recording artist, he debuted with the album Can I Borrow a Dollar? released in 1992. He received mainstream fame after collaborating with Soulquarians. In 2000, he released his first major-label album Like Water for Chocolate.
The rest of the 200s saw him release the albums Electric Circus, Be, Finding Forever, and Universal Mind Control. His latest album, Let Love, was only released this year. As an actor, Common has had notable performances in such films as Smokin’ Aces, Street Kings, Terminator Salvation, Selma, Run All Night, and John Wick: Chapter 2, among others. On TV, Common is best known for his role as Elam Ferguson in the AMC series Hell on Wheels.
