Biography:

Connie Nielsen was born on July 3, 1965 in Frederikshavn, Denmark. She studied drama in Rome and took master classes with Lydia Styx, a teacher at Piccolo Teatro di Milano in Milan.

In 1984, she made her feature film debut with Jerry Lewis’ French film Par où t’es rentré ? On t’a pas vu sortir. She moved to the US in 1996, and first appeared as Christabella Andreoli in the movie The Devil’s Advocate.

This led to roles in such films as Permanent Midnight, Rushmore and Soldier. In 2000, she gained worldwide recognition for her role as Lucilla in the Academy-Award winning film Gladiator.
