Biography:

Cynthia Nixon was born on April 9, 1966 in New York City, New York, U.S.. In 1980, she made her Broadway debut in The Philadelphia Story. She has since starred in other Broadway productions such as The Real Thing in 1983. On television, she achieved mainstream fame, thanks to her portrayal of Miranda Hobbes in Sex and The City from 1998 to 2004.

She went on to reprise her role in the show’s film adaptations: 2008’s Sex and the City: The Movie and 2010’s Sex and the City 2. She has also starred in other movies, including The Pelican Brief, Baby’s Day Out, and Little Manhattan, among others. In 2005, she portrayed Eleanor Roosevelt in the TV film Warm Springs, for which she earned a Primetime Emmy nomination for Outstanding Lead Actress. She will play Emily Dickinson in the upcoming film A Quiet Passion.
