Biography:

David Oakes was born on 14 October 1983 in Fordingbridge, Hampshire, England. During his teens, he was with Salisbury Playhouse. He later attended the University of Manchester where he completed a degree in English Literature. He also trained at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School.

He made his acting debut on the TV series Bonekickers. He next appeared on Henry VIII: The Mind of a Tyrant and had a recurring role on Trinity. He then starred on the miniseries The Pillars of the Earth. He gained recognition for playing Juan Borgia on the US series The Borgias. His recent role was on the British series Victoria.
