Biography:
David Schwimmer was born on November 2, 1966 in Flushing, New York. He completed a theater and speech degree from the Northwestern University. He made his television debut in the early 1990s as Michael in The Wonder Years. He also made his big screen debut in the 1991 film Flight of the Intruder. Subsequently, he played recurring parts in L.A. Law, NYPD Blue, and Blossom.
Mainstream success came in the form of his character Ross Geller in Friends, which became a a hit show throughout the ’90s and early 2000s. For his performance, he was nominated for an Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series in 1995. In the 2000s, he played Captain Herbert Sobel in the HBO miniseries Band of Brothers and directed numerous episodes of the sitcom Joey. He has initially made his directorial debut in 1998’s Since You’ve Been Gone.
