He later became further known for his role as Dennis Finch in the sitcom Just Shoot Me! In the 2000s, he starred as C. J. Barnes in the sitcom 8 Simple Rules. He went on to host the program The Showbiz Show with David Spade. From 2007 to 2013, Spade played the role of Russell Dunbar in CBS sitcom Rules of Engagement.
