Demetria McKinney is an American actress and singer. She made her television debut as Janine Shelton–Payne in Tyler Perry’s House of Payne. The role is also her breakout role, gaining her mainstream recognition. While on the show, she had roles in the films Daddy’s Little Girls and Breaking Up Is Hard to Do. From 2012 to 2014, she starred as Monica in The Rickey Smiley Show. She later landed the role of Tamara Austin Calloway in the prime time soap opera Saints & Sinners. More recently, she had recurring roles in The Quad and The Paynes, as well as starred in the short-lived series Superstition. As of 2019, she stars as Carissa Walker in A House Divided. She also currently stars in the Freeform show Motherland: Fort Salem. She’ll reprise her role as Janine in the upcoming ninth season of Tyler Perry’s House of Payne.
