Biography:

Dena Kaplan was born on 20 January 1989 in Johannesburg, South Africa. She moved to Australia with her family when she was seven. She studied ballet during her younger years and ultimately attended the Australian Ballet School. She then started performing on stage as a dancer. Soon, she pursued a career as an actress. She made her debut in an episode of the show Scooter: Secret Agent.

In 2009, she made her film debut in the Australian feature In Her Skin, followed by one-episode roles in Flight of the Conchords and City Homicide. Her first starring role on television was as Abigail Armstrong in Dance Academy, which she starred in from 2010-2013. At the same time, she had a recurring role as Minnesota Smith in Tricky Business. After Dance Academy, she starred as Sarah Brennen in Camp. In 2016, she made her Hollywood debut as Nadine in the film Honey 3: Dare to Dance.
