Biography:
Desmond Harrington was born on October 19, 1976 in Savannah, Georgia, USA. He grew up in The Bronx, New York. In 1999, he made his professional acting debut in the film The Messenger: The Story of Joan of Arc. He next appeared as an extra in the movie Boiler Room. He later had roles in the films Riding in Cars with Boys, The Hole, My First Mister, Ghost Ship, We Were Soldiers, and Wrong Turn, among others.
He was also active on television during this period. He first appeared in 3 episodes of Taken, then starred as Det. Jimmy McCarron / Det. Dexter McCarron on the TV series Dragnet. He later played Wylie Blake on Sons & Daughters and Troy on Rescue Me. From 2008 to 2013, he became widely known for starring as Det. Joseph Quinn on Dexter. He also played Jack Bass on Gossip Girl. In 2015, he portrayed Alan Shepard on The Astronaut Wives Club. As of 2018, he plays Michael on the CBS series Elementary.
