Biography:
Diego Luna was born on December 29, 1979 in Mexico City, Mexico. He’s been exposed to the world of performing at an early age. This is because his mother is a costume designer. Meanwhile, his father is a set designer. His father would take him to sets and would teach him about the arts. For this reason, he began acting on TV, film, and stage as a kid. Fellow Mexican actor and now a Hollywood star Gael García Bernal is his childhood best friend.
Naturally, he started his career on Mexican screen. After starring in the well-received Mexican feature Y tu mamá también, Luna’s career took off. He was introduced to the US screen with roles in Frida and Vampires: Los Muertos. In 2004, he starred as the male lead in the movie Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights. He appeared in the films The Terminal, Milk, Contraband, and Elysium. His upcoming films are Rogue One: A Star Wars Story and Flatliners, among others.
