Hollywood actor and singer Donnie Wahlberg got his start as a singer, being a member of the boy band New Kids on the Block. The band gained fame in the 1980s and the 1990s with four album releases at that time. He later pursued a career in acting, making his film debut in Bullet. He next had roles in the films Butter, Southie, and The Sixth Sense. In the 2000s, he starred in the movies Bullfighter, Diamond Men, Triggermen, Dreamcatcher, and Marilyn Hotchkiss’ Ballroom Dancing & Charm School. He also became known for his role as Detective Eric Matthews in the Saw films.
He’s also starred in the films Dead Silence, Righteous Kill, and What Doesn’t Kill You. On television, he played Carwood Lipton in Band of Brothers, Chris Scott in Big Apple, Detective Joel Stevens in Boomtown, Paul Rader in Runaway, and Detective Horst Cali in The Kill Point. In the 2010s, he gained wider prominence for his role as Detective Daniel Reagan in the CBS series Blue Bloods. He also appears as himself in the reality show Wahlburgers since 2014, as well as in the reality series Donnie Loves Jenny. He also continued his musical work with the band New Kids on the Block with the release of their fifth album The Block in 2008. Their latest release is the 2017 EP Thankful.
The actor is already nearing his 50s but it’s apparent that he’s still in top shape. So, what’s his workout routine? According to the actor, he gets in his best shape when he’s working with his music with his band. With all the touring and the performances he gets to do, that pretty much converts into a great workout. He said: “I get really in shape to go on tour with the New Kids, then when it’s time to do Blue Bloods, I’ll spin out of control with my diet, gain some weight, and eat a lot of donuts like a cop. But I do try to pay attention to my health.”
