Biography:
Édgar Ramírez was born on March 25, 1977 in San Cristóbal, Táchira, Venezuela. He attended Andrés Bello Catholic University where he studied communications. He started his acting career in 2003, debuting in the Venezuelan telenovela Cosita Rica. Later in 2005, he made his international debut playing Choco in Domino. After this, he landed the role of Paz in The Bourne Ultimatum. He next appeared in the film Vantage Point.
His performance as Carlos the Jackal in the 2010 film Carlos garnered him critical praises. For his role, he received Primetime Emmy and Golden Globe nominations. He went on to star in the movies Wrath of the Titans, Zero Dark Thirty, Deliver Us from Evil, Joy, Hands of Stone, The Girl on the Train, and many others. In 2018, he portrayed Gianni Versace in The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story. He recently played the lead in the movie The Last Days of American Crime.
