Acclaimed actress Edie Falco has been acting since 1987. She debuted in the independent film Sweet Lorraine. This was followed by a couple of roles as an extra. In the 1990s, she had roles in the films Trust, Laws of Gravity, Bullets over Broadway, and The Addiction, among others. On television, her first role was as Eva Thromann in Homicide: Life on the Street. She next had recurring roles as Sally Bell in Law & Order, Sgt. Kelly in New York Undercover, and Diane Whittlesey in Oz.
Her major breakthrough, however, was as Carmela Soprano in the award-winning series The Sopranos (1999-2007). For her work here, she got six Emmy nominations, winning three for Oustanding Lead Actress. At the same time, she played the titular character in the film Judy Berlin. She went on to have notable performances in the films Sunshine State, The Girl from Monday, The Quiet, and Freedomland. After The Sopranos, she played Celeste “C. C.” Cunningham in 30 Rock.
She once again showcased her knack for acting, playing the lead in the sitcom Nurse Jackie (2009-2015). Also critically praised for her performance, she received six Emmy nominations, winning one for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy. Following this, she starred as Sylvia in the web series Horace and Pete. In 2017, she starred as Leslie Abramson in Law & Order True Crime. She was recently cast for the part of General Ardmore in the upcoming films Avatar 2 and Avatar 3.
Apart from her clean diet plan, the actress takes care of herself by staying active. Besides, working out for her is not just about staying in shape. It’s also about feeling well in her mind. “It always clears my head,” she said. One of her go-to workouts is running. She also enjoys exercising by doing Pilates, yoga, and working out on the elliptical machine. “I’m always switching it up to stay interested,” said Falco.
