Edward Burns is an American actor, movie producer, writer, and director. His first movie appearance was in The Brothers McMullen, which he also produced and directed. Subsequently, he did the same for the movie She’s The One, as well as in Sidewalks of New York. He then gained wider recognition in 1998 for his supporting role in the war drama Saving Private Ryan, followed by the films Life or Something Like It, Confidence, and Looking for Kitty, the last of which he also wrote and directed.
